About My Work

My work and research interests focus on Water Resources and Environmental Engineering and specifically on taking on the most complex challenges and developing creative solutions that push existing knowledge limits

Above Earth

Land-Atmosphere Interactions

In this project, we study the interactions between water, energy, and carbon cycles  across multiple scales (from the point to remote sensing scale)

Texas Water Observatory

Texas Water Observatory is a distributed network of water observatories across Texas. We measure surface-vadose-groundwater, energy, and gas fluxes in the Brazos River basin using state-of-the-art sensors. I am the Engineer Technician for the Texas Water Observatory and help serve and manage all aspects of  state-of-the-art water monitoring installations, maintenance, and data collection, distribution, and integrity management

Smartphone Apps for Irrigation and Water Conservation

  1. Evaluate the use of Smartphone apps and evapotranspiration-based controllers for irrigation scheduling to achieve water and energy savings.

  2. Develop irrigation scheduling models in R and MATLAB to optimize the Smartphone apps.

Computer Modeling

I develop and use geospatial hydrological models and algorithms to solve complex Water Resources Engineering problems and provide solutions to water conservation, distribution, and quantification to address the world's need for safe water while protecting this critical resource for future generations
